Candle Care

To ensure your candle burns beautifully and delivers its full fragrance, keep these tips in mind:

1. Create a Burn Memory
Coconut apricot wax has excellent adhesion to glass containers and a smooth, creamy texture. When lighting your candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn throughout the candle’s life. Ideally, candles should not be left to burn continuously for more than four hours at a time.

2. Trim the Wick
Coconut apricot wax burns cleaner and produces less soot compared to paraffin. Before each use, trim the wick to 6-8mm to ensure a clean burn, minimize soot, and prevent mushrooming. However, avoid trimming it too short, as this may make re-lighting difficult.

3. Do Not Blow Out
Extinguish your candle by gently dipping the wick into the melted wax and straightening it. This reduces smoke and makes relighting easier for your next burn.

4. Leave 1 cm of Wax
Stop burning your candle when approximately 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom. Burning past this point may cause the glass to overheat, posing a safety risk.

5. Check the Glass Container
Always inspect the glass container before lighting your candle. Hairline cracks can expand under heat, increasing the risk of breakage.

6. Appearance & Natural Variations
Coconut apricot wax has a luxurious, glossy finish and a strong scent throw. These candles are hand-poured, meaning each one is unique! Avoid placing your candle in direct sunlight, as exposure can cause discolouration—though this does not impact fragrance or safety.

7. Never Leave a Lit Candle Unattended
As an open flame, candles must be monitored at all times. Leaving them unattended can lead to overheating and possible glass breakage. Always keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
